SUMMER COURSES FOR YOUNG LEARNERS ARE STARTING!!

Methodology
At British Side your children are encouraged to use the English they know and to learn new things in a communicative atmosphere. Activities focus on speaking and sharing ideas in a creative way.
We want our students to:
• have fun in the classroom
• communicate clearly in English
• use their imaginations and think creatively
• reach their full potential
• learn independently
To help achieve these aims, we use a variety of materials, techniques and tasks in the classroom to engage, motivate and challenge younger learners. These might include:
• different interaction patterns
• games
• songs and chants
• drama
• arts and craft
• projects
• videos
• computers
Materials
The Summer Intensive courses use graded readers as the basis for class work. These readers are written by specialist ELT authors and the language, topics and page design are carefully graded to match both the age and ability of every young learner. Materials created by our experienced teachers are used to complement the readers and allow the children to develop their English further.
The teacher will set up systems in the classroom so that the students are aware of what is expected of them. However, if a child consistently misbehaves in class and disrupts the other students, British Side will contact the parents in order to discuss the situation.
Bullying and physical violence is not accepted under any circumstances. Students misbehaving in this way will not be allowed to continue studying at British Side.
What is expected from the children?
Your children will be expected to arrive on time for their classes, and to bring the following with them:
• the graded reader (the teacher will give these out on day one of the course)
• their notebook
• a sharp pencil
• a rubber
• coloured pencils and other stationery (optional)
In order for children to learn effectively, they should be encouraged to:
• arrive in class on time, and come back promptly after break
• listen to the teacher carefully and not chat in their own language
• participate in classroom activities with energy and enthusiasm
• use every opportunity they have to practise speaking English
• be cheerful and help to make the classroom a fun place to be
• be polite and respectful towards the teacher and other learners
• be helpful and co-operative in classroom activities
• be willing to experiment with the language they’re learning
• not be afraid of making mistakes
