Sally Gayford - Academic Director

Teaching and Academic Management Experience: 15 years, Turkey, UK, India

Profile: Sally has been teaching since 1996 and worked in Thailand, Italy and the United Kingdom before coming to Istanbul in 2001. She has been an academic manager since 2003, and has been Academic Director at British side since the founding of the company in 2006.

Ted Lewis - Assistant Director of Studies, Corporate Courses

Profile: Ted has been based in Istanbul since 2002 and has been involved in English language teaching since 2003, as a teacher and as an academic manager. He joined the British Side team in 2010, and looks after the academic aspects of corporate courses.

Laura Woodward - Teacher Training Manager

Teaching Experience: 24 years, Turkey, UK, Middle-East, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam

Profile: Laura has been involved in English language teaching and training since 1987. In that time she has worked primarily in Turkey, but also in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Thailand. Laura has been managing British Side's teacher training programmes, including the Cambridge CELTA courses, since 2006.

Elif-Liz Cesar - Teacher Trainer

Teaching Experience: 10 years, Italy and Turkey

Profile: Elif has been an English language teacher since 2001. She has worked mostly in Turkey, but also in Italy. She has been working at British Side since the founding of the company in 2006, and became a full-time teacher trainer in 2010.

Kathleen Parsons

Teaching Experience: 4 years, Vietnam and Turkey

Profile: Kathleen has been teaching since 2006. Her first teaching job was in Vietnam where she spent three years. She came to Istanbul in 2009 and joined the British Side team. Kathleen became the Self-Access Coordinator in 2010.

James Smart

Profile: James has been teaching English as a foreign language since 2005, and has worked in the UK, Austria and Turkey. He came to Istanbul in 2006 and has been a teacher at British Side since 2007. In 2010, James became a Cambridge CELTA trainer.

Guy Harvold

Profile: Guy joined the British Side teaching team in 2006. Prior to that he had worked in the UK as well as working in Turkey before. Guy has been teaching English as a foreign language since 2000.

Katherine Hunter

Profile: Katherine has been an English language teacher since 2004. She came to Turkey in 2004, having started her teaching career in the UK. She has been working at British Side since 2006.

Matthew Lemon

Profile: Matthew has been based in Istanbul since he began his English language teaching career in 2005. He has been a teacher at British Side since 2007.

Theresa Fee

Profile: Theresa joined the British Side team in 2007. Prior to coming to Istanbul she had worked in South Korea, China, Italy, Ireland and Australia. She has been and English as a foreign language teacher since 2002.

Amanda Towle

Profile: Amanda has been teaching since 2005, and has taught in Taiwan and Hungary as well as Turkey. She came to Istanbul in 2009 when she started working at British Side.

Profile: Anna Maria has been teaching English since 1987, and since 1998 has focused more on teaching English for specific business purposes. She has been based in Istanbul since 2008 and joined the British Side team in 2010.
